"Your Photos Can Tell a Story"

It’s commonly said that photos can tell a story. Master photographers can do this in one or two images, but I think it’s evidence of something that it usually takes a lot of effort.

It seems clear looking back, that I’ve been drawn to photo essays, which combine images and words. Looking back at my galleries, my very first photo project was a story (Leo and me) and the latest project was a narrative (West Coast Fire Training), and the ones in between largely fall into the same categories. I like these overtly narrative efforts better than the stand-alone portraits or the urban landscapes and bridges.

An exception might be my tango photos - after around 6,000 tango images total, every once in a while I get a photo that I really like, and this is usually because it says something about the connection between the two dancers.
